The most important world’s leading trade fair for the consumer-goods, Ambiente 2015 from Frankfurt am Main, will close the doors today. I had the honour to be at this extraordinary event, where I saw things for everybody’s taste and pocket. Here I discovered the new ideas of more or less known companies from all other the world, and the concepts and innovations of few young extremely talented designers.
Ambiente, isn’t just a platform for business, ideas and succes, but a space for relax, as well due to the good cafes and restaurants.
This year there where 4.811 exhibitors from 94 countries, with new products and trends for the fields of tableware, kitchenware, houseware, decoration articles, furnishing accessories and gifts. The United States of America was the partner country this year, and there were 100 american companies exposing their products at Ambiente 2015.
”Seashore Galore” is an amazing presentation of products from USA, the representative of this country was the american designer Scott Henderson.
Scott Henderson explained why he choose to expose the things using large scale objects (see the image above), because it is fun and gets people’s attention immediately. Also, he said that he doesn’t look to far to find the inspiration he needs. That’s why he organised the exhibition platform as an Oceanside beach, so that we can relax a little and imagine we are somewhere on the beach in San Francisco or Los Angeles. : )
Some other aspects I would like to tell you about are ”Talents” and ”Next”- the upcoming generation. These two spaces at Messe Frankfurt promote the new creative companies and the young independent designers, where they can expose their absolutely new innovations and original products in different areas GIVING and LIVING. I have noticed that the trends this year, as in the last two years are the simple good functional objects made from ecological materials. ”Less is more”, this is the motto of the most designers from Ambiente.
From my thousands of meter daily travel, I discovered a plenty of companies that creates their products entirely or partly, manually. A fact that impressed me and in the same time made me feel happy was that I found something I really appreciate: some of the handmade objects are numbered and sold with a certificate of quality, originality and uniqueness. Retail price can vary from 16 Euro to more than 3000 Euro, depending on object and it’s complexity. I will come soon with a photo report focused only on handmade items from Ambiente 2015 and some interviews. Stay tuned!
