We love the new Artistar project, Milano Jewelry Week and we wanted to find out details about the event directly from the creators. Enzo Carbone gave us some tips and tricks regarding Milano Jewelry Week.
From the 24th to the 27th October 2019 it will take place the first time the Milano Jewelry Week, the new event of the Milanese schedule entirely dedicated to the jewelry world. About 50 events held in high jewelry ateliers, goldsmith workshops, academies, schools, art galleries, fashion boutiques and design showrooms in the city centre will animate a calendar that will not only involve experts as usual in the most traditional sector events but in particular it will bring all lovers of beauty and handmade to understand this fascinating world.
Can you please tell us what can we find at the newest project Milano Jewelry Week? What are the main events that we should see, for sure?
Collective and personal exhibitions, vernissages, exhibitions of galleries and international schools, awarding nights, workshops, cocktail parties and performances: all these amazing events will offer different points of view on the history and techniques of the goldsmith’s art, restoring a multi-faceted and accessible image of the jewel to which also non-experts can easily become passionate. The unmissable event is absolutely Artistar Jewels, that bring together 150 artists from all over the world at Palazzo Bovara!
Congratulation for a huge event: over 80 events, 350 Exhibitors, 40 Countries, 1000 Jewels how big and creative is your team? What is your secret for being able to bring together over 350 designers and creative people?
I think the secret is having a passionate team, that has skills but of course love its job. This is the must have of every kind of job, if there is passion then the event organized is surely a success, and I believe this is what artists feel too, and why they believe so much in our projects as well.
Do you have a favorite story related to organizing creative events, a story that you can and want to share with our audience?
My favourite story to tell is how the situation changed for us: in 2013, when we first organized the very first edition of Artistar Jewels, in Italy almost no one knew what Contemporary Jewelry was, and look what we have become now: an entirely week on Contemporary Jewelry!
How can Milano Jewelry Week draw a line between an artist and a designer?
Since we want to include every kind of jewelry creators, there will be space dedicated to artists and space dedicate to designers, so that visitors have the chance to see both faces of this world.
What are you planning next regarding organizing creative events?
The response to this Milano Jewelry Week is of course making us thinking in organizing already a 2020 edition: bigger and of course with even higher contents!
Did any designer from Romania got you attention, if yes which one/ ones? And why?
Our heart belongs to Andreia Gabriela Popescu, we must say. She is with us from the very beginning of the project, she believes in Artistar jewels, and we find her creations absolutely amazing.
What is your opinion regarding the Italian creative industries? But what about the European creative industries?
This is an hard question! Of course Italy is a leading country in everything that concerns design and creativity, so I’m really proud that we are working in this field in this beautiful country.
What is the best advice you can give to a young designer? But to an experienced one?
Never be afraid to show your ideas. Believe in yourself but do not hesitate to contact experts that can help you promoting your brand and your creations. And for the experts: do not give up in always promoting your works!
